Interim Supplier Quality Engineer

Based in Leicester and working closely with Suppliers, Sourcing & Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering and quality teams to drive excellent supplier performance.
• Lead effort to reduce Cost of Quality and DPMO for assigned suppliers.
• Conduct surveillance audits to assure that Suppliers have effective Process Control, rigorous Product Acceptance standards, and robust Quality Systems to deliver high quality product.
• Use Supplier Scorecard to drive focused improvements in delivery span and Quality.
• Work with suppliers to improve process capability.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Provide sourcing quality input to engineering during product design reviews.
• Supplier Quality support for NPI projects.
• Responsible for on-boarding of all new suppliers
Who we're looking for
• Ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of BS degree level preferably in an engineering discipline. The candidate will demonstrate technical aptitude;drawings/specifications, system interfacing, and manufacturing process planning and evaluation.
• Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficient in Quality processes (process capability studies, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 20% including international.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
