Ladbrokes seeks a Head of Group Statutory Reporting to be responsible for managing the production of the Ladbrokes plc Group Yearly annual report and interim statutory accounts, ensuring that all disclosure is compliant with the International Financial Reporting Standards. You will further be responsible for overseeing the production of all Ladbrokes plc subsidiary statutory accounts and tax packs, ensuring all accounts are consistent with UK GAAP and Companies Act disclosure.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager you will be responsible for:

• Managing on a day-to-day basis the activities of the Group Statutory Accountant, Group Statutory and Treasury accountant and the Statutory Accountant;

• Working closely with all reports, performing the detailed work as well as being responsible for the reviewing of all work;

• Staying abreast of all technical updates, and briefing both the Group Central Finance team and the Ladbrokes Finance team on all technical issues. This will include liaising with the divisional business teams briefing them on impact of accounting areas;

• Working closely with the other Group functions to ensure all accounting matters are communicated effectively. This should apply particularly to Tax and Treasury where there are some complex accounting transactions and reporting disclosures;

• Taking responsibility in association with the Group Statutory Accountant for co-coordinating the production of the accounting section of the annual report and interim statement;

• Ensuring Tax reorganisations are correctly accounted for and resultant tax packs reflect these transactions;

• Working closely with the external auditors and be seen as the key liaison between the external audit manager and the Ladbrokes team;

• Preparing reports for the audit committee on technical accounting matters;

• Reviewing of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations including Treasury bank reconciliations.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accountant with a good track record of preparing both PLC accounts and subsidiary statutory accounts and be comfortable with processing detailed accounting entries.

Ideally, we are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA), with accounting experience in a big 4 accounting firm.

Experience managing a small team is required.

You will need to be assertive and confident as the role involves close contact with senior management within the organisation.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and be organised, flexible and highly self-motivated.

Experience of treasury accounting is also helpful.

Knowledge of Outlooksoft (consolidation system) is useful and strong excel skills are desired.
