My Client is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to be based at UK Headquarters on the South Coast. The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running in terms of making cost savings and rationalising the current supplier base. The successful candidate will be targeted with negotiating contracts with suppliers to obtain greater value for money, enhancing or maintaining contract terms and conditions to reduce commercial risk, maintaining valid SAP records, and generating timely and accurate statistical information and analysis. The role requires the management of a number of direct reports to meet the needs of the Company's requirements.
The Role involves:
• Managing all aspects of operational procurement from raising orders through to negotiation of terms and conditions of contracts for supply of materials, goods and services.
• Working closely with stakeholders and suppliers to maximise profit margins by reducing cost of materials, goods and services without compromising quality and delivery.
• Analysing current Procurement procedure and strategy and instigating change to improve efficiency of the department.
• Keeping abreast of supply market trends for planning of internal projects and initiatives effectively, and to ensure the company remains competitive in the market place.
• Strategically maintain competition amongst suppliers through communication, negotiation, appraisal and evaluation, competitive tendering, requests for quotation (RFQ), and benchmarking or any other ethical means.
• Provision of Statistical Purchasing Data to the Central Purchasing Function.
• Managing the vendor rating and contractor approval processes in conjunction with internal and external audit procedures and to highlight supply risk analysis data to the Company.
Who we're looking for
Our client is looking for someone with a detailed knowledge of Procurement with proven track record of relevant achievements. The successful candidate will be a quick learner who will develop in the role very quickly.

• Have good commercial awareness to keep abreast of market trends.
• Be a good be a good communicator and influencer to have the ability to influence key stakeholders and external suppliers alike.
• Be a strong negotiator to reduce cost in light of company requirements.
• A manufacturing background is desirable.
