Factory Accountant

As part of the ongoing investment and development of the accounting function, the business is seeking a Factory Accountant.
This is an exciting time to join the business as they are implementing SAP and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to support and engage with the project managers and stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:-

• To understand present costing system and various activities carried out in costing department
• To understand SAP system from Finance as well as Costing point of view
• To concentrate on inventory reduction and utilisation of slow moving / non moving inventory
• To monitor the performance against the budget and do the variance analysis
• Prepare Cash flow estimates and compare it with actual cash flow
• Active involvement in budgetary planning process and prepare budget in consultation with operating people

The business has a long history and is undergoing significant growth and this role will provide an excellent platform to move in to a future financial management position.

Who we're looking for
Previous experience of manufacturing is very important as you will need to demonstrate sound finance & costing knowledge, especially in the areas of budgetary control, product costing, marginal costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, BOM and routing etc.
Applicants should possess sound knowledge of an ERP system, ideally though not necessarily SAP.

You must be ready to work in cross functional teams which would include interactions with sales, manufacturing, spares and service, IT and finance. You should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of other functions and their interconnectivity with finance.

You should also be an effective task manager and must be able to work to strict deadlines.
