Site Manager

You will initially take responsibility for actioning existing plans to deliver improvements from our manufacturing facilities, ensuring that high quality concrete products are made available for sale. Thereafter, you will be expected to develop and agree a local action plan to achieve the requirements set out in the Regional Operational Strategy. You will need to practice a high degree of leadership, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement in the process.
You will proactively lead the introduction of lean manufacturing techniques and share best practice within a continuous improvement environment. You will be expected to successfully manage a complex manufacturing operation, by demonstrating good communication skills and the ability to plan, prioritise, delegate, motivate, influence and organise the site team.
Reporting into the Regional Director you will have full site responsibility for production and liaise heavily with the Logistics Manager. You will have two Production Managers and the Chief Engineer reporting into you as well as other direct reports including Administration and SHE . There will be some functional reporting to you from the Site Logistics Manager, the Regional Technical Manager and the Safety, Health and Environmental Adviser.

Who we're looking for
The position would suit a proven manager ideally holding a degree or HNC level qualification in a Manufacturing, Engineering or a Business Management discipline. A formal qualification in Health and Safety Management and Environmental Legislation will be a distinct advantage. Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques as well as proven success in effective change management is desirable.
