Our client is a dynamic, innovative company with an established international reputation for supplying 'world class' products.
This business, a major plc, has developed over the last decade to strategically become the largest producer within its sector.
An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller within one of the Group's divisions, a £35m turnover plant based in Worcester, reporting to the Managing Director on-site and remotely based Financial Director.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focussed accountant to take their experience onto the next level and genuinely make a difference within a fast paced, ever changing industry.
Performing a business support role, you will operate as the number one finance person on site and sit on the board for this single site manufacturing plant, assisting with all commercial and strategic decision making.
Responsibilities include:
• Provision of day-to-day financial support to the management team and taking a lead role in formulating the direction and business strategy of the business.
• Supporting the commercial team as necessary in reviewing product and customer profitability.
• Assisting in the commercial decision making process.
• Maintaining the estimating system for the UK and China plants which generates job costings.
• Working throughout the business to monitor and reduce costs.
• Working alongside the Group's shared service centre to produce monthly accounts to tight deadlines.
• Providing the link between the shared service centre and the business to resolve any control or process issues.
• Producing annual budget for the business and monthly forecasts in detail.
• Carrying out credit control reviews as required and monitoring and controlling working capital.
• Producing and monitoring capital applications as they arise.
• Overseeing the finance function for the division's production facility in South China.
Who we're looking for
The successful applicant should be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with a strong financial background within the UK and a proven track record within a manufacturing environment.
You must be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally and demonstrate a genuine commercial flair. An ability to influence senior non-finance colleagues in a credible manner regarding finance matters is essential.
A willingness to question and challenge the 'status quo', to promote a culture of continuous improvement and a passion for adding value are all highly desirable qualities.

Our client has developed over the last decade to strategically become the largest producer in it's sector within the UK and Europe. The Plc turnover is in excess of £400m per annum.
This role is based in Worcestershire at a highly focused operating business within the plc, manufacturing a wide variety of packaging products sold predominantly to the retail food supply chain.
With over 300 personnel on site and a turnover in excess of £30m this is one of the groups largest UK sites.
