The New Business Development Manager is responsible for nurturing and securing strategic relationships with key prospects by building a trusted partnership environment that optimises profitability, revenue and client satisfaction. You will be focused on pro-actively identifying and closing new business opportunities for the company.
You will be selling a range of marketing and information management solutions into corporate business and you will be securing contracts through key economic decision makers and senior level relationships. Verticals you will have exposure to will include Utilities, Hi-tech, Telco as well Communications and Financial Services and you should be experienced in closing deals valued at £250,000+ per year.
You will need to expand your network of contacts within these prospects, identifying influencers, decision makers and approvers to ensure you are able to influence opportunities at all levels. In addition, you will need to develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the target business in order that you can differentiate the company's services and communicate their unique value.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have previous direct marketing and/or data experience but very much from a new business sales perspective. The post holder will also be able to demonstrate the majority of the following:
• A previous successful track record of solution sales into the Utilities, Telco, Hi-Tech, Communications or Financial Services markets. A contact portfolio of existing relationships within these key areas would be highly beneficial.
• A demonstrable history of new business development, lead-sourcing and hunting and a pro-active approach to securing sales.
• Strong negotiation skills and an ability to comfortably and successfully deal with senior level relationships.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, coupled with a high degree of commercial acumen and gravitas.
