Support Team Manager

The primary function of a Support Team Manager within this IT Company is to be responsible for a support team that look after the many clients that the organisation supply with their products. The support team provide 1st right through to 3rd line support for the company's client base and are not involved in the group's internal IT function, therefore understanding and appreciating this difference is between the two is paramount to undertaking this role. The team consists of between 12-18 members that are all based in the Berkshire office, therefore coming from a similarly sized environment and managing a comparable number of direct reports is key to fulfilling this role.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate to fulfil a Support Team Manager role will possess the following demonstrable experience:
• Managing a support team having at least 10 direct reports
• Managing a support team that are a vendor group for a client base, rather than such a team that support an internal user community
• Strong people management skills
• Strong technical skill-set primarily revolving around network and web security
• Appreciation and previous enforcement of best practices
• Previous experience of agreeing, setting and enforcing SLA's upon previously managed teams

As well as the above key experience, candidates should also possess the following to function within this IT company:
• Adaptability, as change will be something that continually happens within this organisation and role.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• An appreciation for the "big picture" not just the detail of your role

Other beneficial skills and qualifications include exposure to:
• First class communication and customer service skills
• CCNA or CCNP or CCSP or ITIL

The organisation we are representing is an IT security group that are responsible for providing clients with full end-to-end web based security solutions. The head office for this group is based in Berkshire and has great transport links available to it.
