The role will be leading a Finance Team of four employees in the efficient delivery of the following activities:
• Maintenance and control of the financial ledgers ensuring they reconcile to the general ledger and target levels for overdue or unprocessed items are maintained;
• Inter-company agreements;
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and adequately documented;
• Treasury functions;
• Foreign Currency forecasting and hedging through European HO
• Vat and Intra-stat Returns.
Additionally you will ensure the delivery of the following:
• Preparation of Capacity Cost budgets and forecasts and monthly budgetary control reporting including regular reviews with Departmental Managers (supported by management accounts staff);
• Contribute to monthly reporting by giving information/explanations to the Management Accountant and Finance Manager as required;
• Contribute to the preparation of the group statutory accounts under
US GAAP;
• Contribute to the preparation of the corporation tax pack and
subsequent investigations;
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) procedures;
• Ensure complaisance with VAT and intra-stat rules.
Who we're looking for
Ideally you will have:
• Worked in a similar role
• A sound understanding of accounting techniques and the issues facing an international manufacturing business
• Ability to demonstrate success in a previous Finance position
• Involvement in the introduction of new systems or procedures within a Finance Department
• A high level of competence in the use of spreadsheets (Excel) is essential. Knowledge of financial reporting packages and ERP systems would be an advantage
• Be a self-starter who can effectively implement change and motivate colleagues and team members to achieve high quality results within tight deadlines.
• Be able to demonstrate effective working relationships at all levels
•A high level of ability in managing data and systems
• Good organisation, project management and problem solving skills
