In line with its ongoing commitment to IT, Smith & Williamson is undergoing a major upgrade from HP 3000 to 9000 (HP rx8640 Itanium 2). It is looking for a dedicated and talented HP-UX Systems Administrator to be the senior member in a small team, responsible for the support and administration of HP-UX 11i. Reporting to an associate director, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the production and development environment, as well as for providing input into strategic plans for the department.

Who we're looking for
• Established experience as a Systems Administrator in a UNIX environment.
• Experience supporting UNIX and Windows environments across multiple sites.
• Proficiency with HP-UX and an HP UNIX Systems Administrator Certification.
• Knowledge and administrative use of: EVAs (Enterprise Virtual Array), CommandView.
DataProtector v5.5 or v6, SAN & Itanium UNIX servers.
• Proficiency with shell scripting, + awk & sed
• Knowledge and administrative use of IGNITE and tools such as Fbackup,Glance,Tar,Stm & Lvm
• Knowledge and experience of implementing security.
• The ability to document and present to all levels of staff up to board level.
• Skills to include project management, analytical thinking and problem solving.
