Our client is a leading FMCG company and has a requirement to strengthen their already successful supply chain team by the creation of a new Transport Manager's role. Reporting to the European Logistics Director this commercially focused role will involve controlling all the transport movements of raw and finished goods for the European outsourced 3PL transport network and will be integral delivering a service against agreed budget. Your ability to build relationships within a cross functional team, negotiate with and manage internal and external customer groups and 3rd party logistics providers will be based on your knowledge of driving forward improvements to provide an efficient transport network. You will lead the financial operating budget and annual business plan for the transport components and ensure statutory compliance is maintained throughout all transport elements of the logistics business units. You will also be a proven leader and developer of people, inspiring and enabling them to meet business and personal objectives.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate must be of degree calibre and have a proven track record of success developing and managing a dynamic international transport network, preferably from a FMCG background. This role will combine strategic development, operational management and project co-ordination to initiate change across the transport network from supplier through to European customer deliveries. Our client has an entrepreneurial culture, where you will be encouraged to challenge current thinking, have ideas, and really make a difference. Your background in transport will display achievement in the aforementioned disciplines and you will have direct exposure to transport development projects. Furthermore, your ability to communicate and lead the translation of ideas both to and from others will be pre-requisite. You will have a key knowledge of the European logistics market and have the ability to form a streamlined, efficient and cost effective network with a preferred group of providers and will have a track record of developing, negotiating, implementing and managing tenders for the procurement of additional 3PL providers to support our clients continued expansion.
