Your responsibilities will include:-

Ensuring the Financial Statements are completed in accordance with the relevant statutes and accounting conventions and within agreed timescales including:
-Preparation of the year end timetable and co-coordinating the year end process
-Preparation of the Financial Statements of each Company and the Group Consolidation
-Ensuring the interim and final external audit work is able to be carried out efficiently and at a reasonable cost to the Group.

Provide an efficient and effective Treasury management function to the group including:
-Preparation of daily and 12 month rolling cash flow projections
-Management of cash balances and draw down/repayment requirements
-Preparing, monitoring and controlling interest payable and receivable budgets
-Providing information to and maintaining good relations with our Lenders
-Organise/liaise with the valuers to produce the annual and 5 yearly valuations

Prepare and submit returns to our Regulators and other statutory bodies in accordance with deadlines including: Housing Corporation and capacity model return, quarterly company and Group VAT returns and completion of the corporation tax

Manage the financial and income accounting team (nine people)
-Ensuring rent accounting team provides a service to the area teams and the annual rent increase process takes place.
-Sundry debtors system to raise all charges not accounted for via the rents system
-Monitor the collection/recovery of income, identifying bad debts and calculating provisions for bad debt

Assist the Head of Financial Services to ensure there is adequate financial risk management control over all Group activities. Assisting with the maintenance of the Group's financial plan.

Administer the Company's accounting systems, accounting and reporting timetable as agreed with the Head of Financial Services including:
Maintaining the nominal ledger and ensuring all reconciliations are performed
Maintaining the fixed asset registers
Preparation of quarterly balance sheet, I & E and cashflow

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of accountancy, VAT, tax and treasury. With a substantial background in producing financial statements including group consolidations.
You will be able to demonstrate effective leadership with the ability to motivate, support and encourage a team and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
A working knowledge of the Registered Social Landlord Accounting requirements, SORP & RSL regulation would be advantageous. A recognised accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
