The roles will interface at a senior level into the various business divisions, so the role holder should be in possession of excellent communication skills. In addition, you will be expected to assist in the development of the team, as well as looking for opportunities to shape the role for maximum benefit.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual - you will produce the VAT returns within strict deadlines, undertake a comparison with previous returns, explain significant variances, ensure they are properly authorised and submit them on a timely basis
You will also act as the custodian/guardian of the VAT accounts, ensuring only valid transactions are posted, in addition to providing interpretation for movements on those accounts. The post holder will ensure advice is sought from the Indirect Tax department when a VAT problem is identified or in respect of:
• One-off or unusual transactions unless written VAT/GST guidance makes further advice redundant
• All new products (goods or services)
• New types of cross-border transactions
• Non-routine property transactions
• Business acquisitions or disposals
• Business promotions
On advice from the Indirect Tax department, you will act as the focal point for implementing required changes to business practices/procedures e.g. due to changes in legislation/rules or simply because the business is accounting incorrectly for VAT.

• Good IT skills across a range of packages and systems, particularly the SAP Finance modules.
• Thorough understanding of financial and management accounting.
