The purpose of the job is to provide governance support to facilitate and assist the CIO and COO review/gate-keep and prioritise new product development,by helping to identify, mitigate, monitor and control product risk. This is a global role and will require the candidate to interact with stakeholders in multiple locations at different levels in the organisation.

This product development governance process is used to help prioritise the investments and product pipeline through the administration of the Product Review Board chaired by the CIO. Furthermore the product governance team helps to manage the risks associated with new products developed/sourced and is a key pre-cursor to product launch for such a highly progressive and dynamic business. The product viability, commercial value, prioritisation and general product risk approval process requires a centrally co-coordinated functional review (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Credit, Finance, Operations, Technology) of all investment product proposals from origination through to approval/launch. Post-launch a review is undertaken by the product governance team to assess product launch success rates and provide feedback to the Product Review Board.
Core accountabilities
- Coordinating thenew products valueas well as being a contact point for issues arising through new product sign-off process
-Coordinating/Running the investment Product Risk Forum for risk rating products sold to the mass-affluent and affluent segments as well as review and approve Product Risk Rating processes applicable in other global investment product platforms
- Coordinating thecommittee for reviewing the investment content and structure of more complex products proposed for launch across globalplatforms
-Working with Product Development,front office segment leaders and Group Infrastructure areas to help resolve product-related issues

Who we're looking for
Professional/technical experience - Essential
- Substantial experience within the financial services sector both from a regulatory and product perspective
- Team and/or project management leadership experience with reporting to senior boards or MDs
- Product Development or Product Risk/control-orientated background in a financial services environment with proven track record of delivery
- Very strong planning & organisation skills as well as good influencing skills
- Very strong verbal & written communication skills - must be able to articulate complex/volume information in clear and concise manner
- Excellent networking and relationship building skills
- Strategic and lateral thinking - with strong understanding ofwealth strategies, and a deep understanding of investmentproducts- to enable product development & value connections to be formed through breadth and depth of knowledge
- Strong numerical skills - particularly interpretation & understanding of business models, with good understanding future value principles
- Strong capabilities with key IT applications
