Design Manager

Reporting to the Director of Engineering you will lead a team of three design engineers, providing complete product ownership from initial concept through to prototyping and manufacturing. Responsibilities include:-

• Transforming the traditional design function into a motivated product development team.
• Reducing the product development cycle and delivering cost reductions.
• Capturing advances in design and materials technology and encouraging lateral thinking to deliver innovative class-leading products.
• Providing innovate design solutions that exceed customer expectations.
• Closely communicate with key stakeholders in the business that will include the new product development team, finance, manufacturing and engineering.

Who we're looking for
This key business role demands an individual with a strong technical ability coupled with a track record driving innovation in design and development teams. Industry background is flexible, however a mechanical design background with an understanding of rotational equipment design and turn-key solutions would be preferable. A strong appreciation for how design interacts with the manufacturing process, strong communication skills and the ability to drive and motivate a team will be essential.
