The Environment Agency is looking to recruit a strong, online candidate to develop and maintain all of the Environment Agency's Science 'Interactive Communications'. It is essential that this key player will develop a media that users can adapt, personalise or interrogate to obtain a service or find information. It is the responsibility of this individual to ensure that everyone uses these to the best effect, and in a forward-looking and integrated way.
Examples of this will include the improvement of the 'Easinet' internal system by focusing the design and content of the Science Easinet presence around key goals and audiences.
Another example will be the enhancement of the Internet. The Environment Agency's website receives over 40,000 requests for information per day and this can rise to over 1 million during times of flooding. You will be required to promote the work of the Agency through this medium by maintaining and improving the Science web presence, identifying and developing new web services that will be useful to their customers, and implementing standards including the Agency's corporate identity and ensuring maximum accessibility for disabled users.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a candidate available immediately with a solid track record of online experience and the ability to develop but also generate ideas to enhance and progress the online functions.
