Leading UK bank seeks highly successful leader to assume the position of Head of Portfolio Management to be based in either Bristol or Birmingham.
The Head of Portfolio Management sits in the Executive Management team within my client's Commercial Banking Risk Management team. There is huge growth within the Credit team, who aim to double their business over the next few years. The strategy for the Credit portfolio is therefore essential to this expansion and requires a strategic thinker and proactive leader to ensure the team delivers in line with the target operating model and strategic growth plans of the business. This role requires an executive level individual to manage the Credit Portfolio and define and drive the portfolio optimisation strategy for the Credit team.The successful candidate will manage the balance sheet and have regulatory/ Basel responsibility. You will need to understand the credit portfolio, to include the trends and direction it is headed in order to achieve the growth targets.You will be the deputy to the Risk Director, working closely with senior level peers and Board level management and being directly accountable for the Credit Portfolio team.
Who we're looking for
A senior executive who can communicate at a high level and has strong numerical and finance skills and ideally exposure to the Risk environment from a large, blue-chip organisation.
You will:
• have proven experience of managing large portfolios
• be highly numerical and comfortable working with data and statistics
• be able to influence at a senior level and act as an advocate for the Credit Risk team across the bank
• have a background in finance or experience within Risk Management
