Director of Resources

Reporting to the Executive Director you will oversee all financial, human and physical resources and provide support to the senior management team to enable delivery of the Crafts Council's strategic plan. With dedicated resources in each of the departments you look after you will be expected to manage the output of these area's in contributing towards the organisations development and growth. Whilst this is in essence a strategic role you will be expected to adopt a hands on approach when required and be seen as one of the figureheads of the organisation. This role offers a very broad view on the business and as a result offers the chance to genuinely influence the direction of this prestigious business.

Who we're looking for
You will be a qualified accountant with knowledge of charity accounting and the experience in I.T/Premises or Human Resources Management. It is essential you have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar organisation and 2 years in a senior management role where you will have developed and implemented strategic plans. It goes without saying that in such a people facing role you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a management style that both motivates and gains respect.

The Crafts Council promotes the contemporary crafts in UK. It is an independent organisation funded by Arts Council England and provides services to craftspeople and the public. With funding of circa £4m p.a and a new chief executive and management structure this is a critical time for the organisation and will offer a demanding and exciting challenge for the successful candidate.
