Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this role offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to excel in this key, Sheffield based, public sector organisation. As Head of Risk and Audit your duties will include:
• Establishing a framework of Risk Management and Internal audit policies and processes to ensure controls in areas such as funding, value for money, fraud investigation and irregularities.
• Embedding a culture of effective risk management throughout the organisation.
• Planning and allocating work to your direct reports to control work levels, delivery and efficiency.
• Managing the audit team of 17 with effective leadership and communication.
• Deciding on the level and scope of audit procedures to ensure both internal and external assurance requirements are met.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate for the position of Head of Risk and Audit will be able to demonstrate:
• Extensive practical experience of internal audit and risk management.
• Experience and knowledge of fraud investigations and legislation relating to these.
• A high degree of technical knowledge of audit and risk management theory.
• Strong staff management, capable of building loyalty and cohesion in a diverse team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, being able to simplify complex data.
