Scientific Consultant

The role of Scientific Consultant requires a combination of scientific and sales skills, with the in depth technical understanding being the key.
Within this role you will perform a variety of functions to raise the awareness of the benefits of ceramic orthopaedic implants by working with the Key Opinion Leaders in the UK. As well as selling the benefits of the products you will aim to run comprehensive studies and publish the results of them.
The Scientific Consultant will organise events and will present at congresses and meetings. You will undertake comprehensive literature and market research to become the industry expert in ceramic orthopaedic implants.

Who we're looking for
The successful Scientific Consultant is likely to:

1. Hold a degree in Materials Engineering or similar including commercial experience in research
2. OR hold a Medical Degree or similar
3. Possess a good understanding or artificial joints, especially bearing couples
4. Have the confidence and presence to influence the leading orthopaedic surgeons in the UK

About our client
CeramTec is a major supplier of technical ceramics and specialises in the development, production and distribution of innovative products. Their headquarters are in Germany but they currently have a manufacturing facility in the UK which manufactures domestic and industrial fuses.

The Medical Products Division of CeramTec manufactures ceramic components for hip joint, knee joint and invertebral replacement. These have the advantage of being more durable than conventional metal joints and more easily accepted by the body. CeramTec have been manufacturing these products for 30 years, but has not been directly represented in the UK.
