Our client is a leading global, Blue Chip, 3PL business with a market leading presence in the UK. An aggressive expansion strategy has led to an exciting opportunity for a results focusedTransport General Manager to take responsibility for one of our clients key accounts. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, this is a high profile management position that will enable you to demonstrate your talents and play a pivotal role as part of the Senior Network team. You will have fully autonomy to manage this multi customer network in an efficient and cost effective manner to ensure that our client meets and exceeds exacting Customer Service, Quality and Safety requirements.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate must be a strong man manager and have a proven track record of success within a blue chip 3PL business. You will have the ability to implement a comprehensive program of change in a highly unionised environment. Having managed large transport operations, your ability to prioritise will be key, as will a good eye for detail. Self-motivated and confident, you must have a flexible and persistent approach to problem solving and thrive on the challenge of achieving results. You will have managed a P&L and driven improvements in a large transport operation. You will be a strong and successful People manager, adept at developing and getting the best from your team. Essential personal attributes required include; natural leadership, strong analytical skills, influencing and tenacity.
