The overall purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day delivery of all operational aspects of the offshore islands Credit Operations teams and to create &
deliver a short and long-term operational improvement agenda.
Accountable to the Head of Credit Operations, the role holder will be responsible for delivering the performance targets for the team. This will be achieved through strong leadership of the team, providing clear business direction and drive performance to optimise results.
The role holder will manage the department's key stakeholders, ensuring that they are champions of the operations team, its performance and its plans, and act as a point of referral for the team, using coaching to achieve improved performance and development.
They will also ensure that clients are serviced in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and commercial / customer practices, including achieving all quality checking & control requirements.
Key objectives in this role are:
Ensure the team is structured and recruited with the right balance of skills and experience to achieve objectives for the unit and deliver excellent client interaction with a focus on delivering a world class customer experience for sales teams, customers and end-user clients. Manage the performance of suppliers, whether internal or external and lead, direct and implement a strategy to ensure full delivery of the units operational SLA's and service improvement. Work with the Head of Credit Operations to set the standards, focus and pace to meet and exceed agreed SLA's on a daily basis and manage the operational budgets relating to all overtime/TOIL/ sickness in the unit, ensuring that the needs of the business are balanced with the cost of doing business. Provide MI in a timely fashion to the Head of Credit Operations for inclusion in Leadership deck / Introducers pack / Dashboard and on a daily / weekly basis proactively lead and manage the workflow of the teams to optimise output and quality. Ensure all compliance and risk issues are mitigated working alongside appropriate teams. Ensure feedback is structured and documented and delivered to Team managers/Leaders to build into performance reviews and identify trends/weaknesses that require procedural change or training.
Who we're looking for
The role holder should have excellent technical knowledge of the Credit process, including a good working knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting Credit products, security taking and collateral monitoring. The ideal candidate will also have a detailed knowledge of the competitors, products and trends in the Credit market.
The role requires excellent experience of managing operations teams and the work flow dynamics within them. The role
holder should have a proven track record of performance management, coaching and managing under performance.
Preferably the role holder will have experience of undertaking or overseeing Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent process
improvement techniques. The ideal candidate will preferably have project management accreditation/qualifications, such as MSP or Prince II. The right candidate will have an excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
