Reporting to the Managing Director and the Regional Board, based inYorkshire, you will need to be able to demonstrate a successful track record of commercial success in a growing a social housing contracting business. This role will have overall responsibility for the Quantity Surveying, Estimating and Buying functions. The successful Commercial Director will need to have experience of leading a commercial function within a business through a period of rapid growth and expansion and have been able to ensure its culture and quality standards were maintained and developed. The role itself is part of the Senior Management Team briefed to have a fully empowered role looking after the company's commercial and financial activities within the contract and estimating functions. The role will require you to be extremely commercially astute and have 5 years experience of managing teams.
Who we're looking for
The successful Commercial Director will need to demonstrate the following:
• Experience in Managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers.
• Good communicator who is confident dealing with the client as well as managing a team.
• Experience of building teams, developing people's capabilities to produce results beyond expectations.
• Producing of accurate information for contribution forecasts, monthly cost/value reports, management accounts and on site progress.
• Industry recognised Quantity Surveying qualification.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of the local market and the ability to prepare accurate contract valuations.
