This is an exciting role for a Credit Officer to work within this London-based, credit group of 5 people.

Responsibilities include:
• Preparation of counterparty credit applications (90% of role) for submission to the appropriate sanctioning offices, in support of CM marketing and trading groups, for the purpose of renewal of existing credit lines and establishing new credit lines for a customer base of around 400. predominantly looking at EMEA ('Europe, Middle East, and Africa') banks and corporates. the credit application process involves gathering relevant up-to-date information from available sources (theBank, rating agencies (Moody's, Standard & Poors), broker reports, internet). typically a 'credit application' will include a financial results spreadsheet, 'Word' document narrative analysis, other information as appropriate.

• Periodic 'internal rating' reviews of customers following the Bank'srating models (10% of role).

• other 'ad hoc' duties as required (occasional only).

Who we're looking for
• Proven experience of counterparty credit application preparation, most probably with a European slant.

• ideal candidate might be from a UK 'high street' bank background, having undergone an in-house or external training programme. another possibility is that the candidate may have previously or currently work in a head office function such as credit review or sanctioning.
•Personal qualities; reliable team contributor, equally with ability to work on own initiative.

• Education: 'A' level educated. banking-related professional qualification a useful addition but not a pre-requisite, more relevance will be placed on 'on-the-job' experience and ability.
