Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for a small but growing team, who collectively manage the purchase of a range of plant, materials& sub-contracted services for the maintenance and refurbishment of property to support the company's operational activity.
Specific duties include -
• Identifying, selecting and developing new suppliers for future business demand
• Implementing & leading cost reduction and supplier improvement programmes
• Establishing contract terms to ensure delivery of a best in class service to customers
• Managing the performance of sub-contractors through KPIs
• Developing & establishing new best practice processes & procedures for the purchasing team
• Provide detailed cost analysis for use in tender submissions
• Manage the purchasing team to facilitate optimum performance
• Ensure adherence to legal requirements through formulation of appropriate contracts and framework agreements

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading and establishing the team with new processes and facilitating best practice procurement for the business. You will need to drive forward changes and ensure that internal stakeholders are bought into the value delivered by the team.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be from a construction background or related industry. You will have a thorough knowledge of projectand/or facilities procurement, and the commercial awareness to drive for cost savings and continuous improvement. Your experience will ideally include dealings with sub contractors, and framework agreements.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team, including implementing new processes & procedures and creating a motivational working environment.
Your purchasing skills should be honed to a high level of skill including negotiation, contract knowledge, supplier sourcing & selection, and supplier management.
