Oversight and maintenance of finance and other operational controls over unit linked business.
You will be reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, this is a key role in a challenging environment providing an opportunity to make a significant impact on the Company's control environment.
You will need to ensure an operational environment for unit linked funds that is well controlled and responsive to regulatory changes, where error rates are minimised, corrections are quickly actioned.
The unit linked controller is expected to contribute to setting policies, procedures and interpreting regulations. Assisting in the achievement of the department's overall objectives and ensuring that the department provides an excellent service to its stakeholders.
Duties:
• Ensuring the 'Unit Linked Operations Guide'is maintained and that documentation is complete. Liaising with Company Secretarial, Financial Reporting, Tax and the appropriate Company Directors as necessary.

• Supporting the production of papers and minutes for the Unit Pricing Committee, the Asset Liability Matching Committee, and Investment Committee.

• Monitor the Discretionary elements of unit linked pricing. Be the 'expert' in pricing matters and ensure processes and procedures are well documented.

• Track IPER clearance.

• Design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of appropriate controls, to ensure the accuracy of information and reporting. Act as the Process Owner responsible for the Unit Linked (Pricing?) Internal Controls Framework processes.

• Ad-hoc project work and other activities as necessary to support the achievement of the department's operational objectives, which could range from implementation of new systems/processes to supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives.

Who we're looking for
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of Unit Linked Pricing would be beneficial but not essential
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment
• Experience of developing and implementing accounting/financial controls
• PC skills - Good Excel skills essential, Access advantageous
• Preferably Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience in finance or regulatory environment..
