A Supplier Development Engineer to proactively develop the supply base, leading continuous improvement to improve reliability and performance. Within each supplier you will implement lean manufacturing techniques, including SMED and 5S using a range of quality tools including FMEA, Poke Yoke and SPC. An objective will be to implement value stream mapping across the processes and supply chains to eliminate common wastes.
This role requires a hands on approach, proactively resolving any quality and technical issues arising.
You will establish APQP capability within the supplier base, influence cost reduction activities and process and yield improvements.

Who we're looking for
A proven Supplier Development Engineer, Quality Engineer or a commercially aware Manufacturing Engineer with the presence and credibility to influence the supplier base. Experience of precision engineering, metal forming and joining is ideal. You should have:
• A technical understanding of materials forming and finishing.
• An appreciation of 6 Sigma application.
• Experience of influencing design and development.
• A proven ability of quality improvement .
• Proven experience of using tools such as SPC, FMEA, APQP and QFD.
