Key to BAE Systems' success is the strength of its people and now Regional Aircraft is looking to recruit a new addition to its legal team. Reporting to the Senior Counsel, Regional Aircraft you will work in a small team based in Hatfield which manages the portfolio of aircraft in which BAE retains a financial exposure.
This is an opportunity to work for a leading global company. The role is highly commercial and within one of the most challenging and dynamic industry sectors. You will offer the business comprehensive legal advice on strategy, drafting, negotiation and implementation of a range of commercial transactions including operating leases, procurement and services agreements. You will play a vital role in assessing financial risks and ensure that corporate governance is properly executed.
Who we're looking for
Candidates should have a background in corporate/commercial law with high quality training and expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience of operating lease structures and equipment financing from within the aviation or banking sectors but whilst in house experience is preferable, candidates with strong private practice transactional experience who are looking for a change of direction should also apply. You must however be a driven and commercially astute lawyer who can perfectly balance the role's technical challenges with fulfilling the business's needs pragmatically and pro-actively. Interpersonal skills, self-confidence and the ability to work autonomously are crucial.
