This exciting new venture will offer the full range of wholesale banking activities, businesses and services and more specifically, will focus on Capital Markets, Trade Finance and Asset Finance (Structured and Project Finance) - proactively seeking investment opportunities in the UK and investors for their own domestic markets.
With the support of Board Level Management, the bank is looking to appoint a highly-regarded Senior Banker with the proven relevant UK market and senior management experience to spearhead its expansion into London. It is expected that this individual will play a significant part in the bank's ongoing discussions with the FSA, vital to obtaining a banking licence within a year.
Reporting directly into Board Level Management, the role will cover:
• Assistance in the preparatory stages of the application package and regulatory business plan for submission to the FSA.
• Implementing and developing the infrastructure and enhance the culture of success in the bank.
• Hands-on involvement in setting up and managing the entire start-up operation
• Building the business from a marketing and investment product perspective in line with parent bank objectives
• Continual development and expansion of the business once it is up and running
• Attracting, developing and retaining other senior management professionals to the bank
Who we're looking for
Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate:
• Proven understanding of the structure and running of wholesale banking.
• Proven entrepreneurial experience (i.e., a "rainmaker type)
• Prior experience of a start-up venture
• Previous dealings with large corporates (e.g., Oil, Gas & Power, Manufacturing, Construction and Telecoms sectors)
• A strong track record in Capital Markets, Trade Finance and other Wholesale banking activities and knowledge of Asset Finance (Structured and Project Finance)
• A sound understanding and appreciation of UK Regulatory issues
• The credibility, pedigree and gravitas to formulate and shape business strategy in the UK.
• Unquestionably high levels of energy, integrity and conviction to source, development and retain a Senior Management team
