Comic Relief's corporate team is looking for a Senior Officer to fill a pivotal role within the organisation. You will help recruit, manage and maximise its partnerships with major blue chip commercial organisations for Red Nose Day 2009 and Sport Relief 2010. In close collaboration with the Corporate Fundraising Manager, and, with the support of the rest of the team, you will drive the recruitment of sponsors and manage the corporate projects during the campaigns. Sponsorship plays an essential element as you will define the strategy for large corporate partners and develop big deal sponsorship opportunities for these clients. In addition you will need to be strategic and think of sponsorship opportunities to attract potential partners.
You must have an extensive background in securing and managing demanding clients and know how to communicate to build long term relationships. You are used to managing large, complex projects from inception through to completion and have a proven ability to make things happen. A track record of managing people is a plus. It is also essential that you have excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as risk awareness.
Who we're looking for
Ideally we are looking for someone who has strong experience in a commercial environment with drive and enthusiasm who would like to transfer their experience to the charity space. The following skills and background are essential:
• A proven track record in sponsorship sales in the commercial sector is essential. You will have sold high level sponsorship deals across a raft of media or sporting brands
• Knowledge of relationship building in order to secure revenue at a senior level
• Extensive track record of account management and business development in the corporate and commercial sectors
• Extensive track record of securing and managing demanding clients
• Ability to communicate to build long term relationships.
• Management of large, complex projects from the beginning and a proven ability to follow through to completion
• Ability to think strategically and come up with new sponsorship initiatives for potential and existing corporate partners
•People management background is a bonus but you must be willing to take on people management responsibilities
• Ability to put together and deliver presentations to senior level clients
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels
