Financial Operations Support Accountant

Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a high profile management position based at our client's key distribution site in the North West. Our client is a profitable, family owned business that has grown steadily in recent years and has built up an enviable reputation in their particular industry. This role offers an opportunity to demonstrate your talents and play a pivotal role as part of the team integral in driving the business forward. Working with the rest of the Senior Management team you will manage a key department in an efficient and cost effective manner. The role is split into two functions with emphasis placed highly on both sides.

As Operations Support Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the following activities:

Finance:

o Sales ledger - raise all invoices for the business, chase debtors
o Purchase ledger - process all invoices for costs/charges incurred by the business
o Wages - weekly paid and monthly paid on Sage Payroll
o Produce monthly management accounts
o VAT, PAYE, NI
o Maintain asset register
o Petty cash control
o Bank reconciliation

Administration:

o Insurance Claims
o Fuel Management
o Tachograph Analysis
o Computer systems
o Telephone systems
o Utilities
o Personnel issues
o Vehicle Licensing
o Quality Management Systems
o Central Overheads Management/Control
o Vendor Management
o Commercial Property Management

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of success within Finance as well as the ability to communicate with large numbers of people at all levels. Your ability to prioritise will be key, as will a good eye for detail. Self-motivated and confident, you must have a flexible and persistent approach to problem solving and thrive on the challenge of achieving results. Essential personal attributes required include; natural leadership, strong analytical skills, ability to influence and tenacity.

A number of changes internally to the business and externally in the market place have resulted in an increase in both market share and a fresh, modern drive forward for the business. This role is pivotal in pulling together the Finance function and providing practical support to the operational management team.
