The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the marketing direction of the company as well as the overall coordination, the functional management and leadership of all of the UK Fire Protection and sales activities of the business. The position reports directly to the Managing Director:

• The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the establishment of both annual sales and marketing objectives in coordination with the Company's business plan.
• The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for providing an annual Sales and Marketing Plan and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan.
• The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales and Marketing Plan with all of the functional departments of the company and, most specifically with Supply Chain and Finance.
• The Director of Sales and Marketing, in coordination with the Managing Director, establishes both market and target customer strategies for the Company.

This position is responsible for:

• The successful management of the needs of the Company's customers in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
• The management of the Fire Protection and SBU Business Unit Managers, and Marketing Managers directly and indirectly manages all of the associated field sales employees and Marketing Services team.
• The development and implementation of the sales strategy to maintain and drive business growth.
• The development and implementation of the marketing strategy with a focus on creating and developing the brand, proposition and communications.
• Defining and managing the annual sales and Marketing objectives for all of the related personnel.
• Spending a significant portion of time meeting and managing the top 10 Customers in the UK.
• Establishing compensation plans for all sales personnel including salary structures and bonus plans, in coordination with the HR Team and Managing Director.
• Being knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies, bringing market intelligence to the Senior Management team.

Who we're looking for
• A commercial flair - this is a highly commercial role, having an understanding and comfort with how decision making will impact on the bottom line is essential
• Entrepreneurial talent - the opportunity of being closely involved in the business planning with the Senior Management Team requires this role to be regularly presenting business opportunities.
• Relevant experience of managing both in house Marketing Services, and field sales personnel.
• Has sound financial knowledge and experience.
• Previous experience in the Construction industry is definitely a bonus.
• Has developed and executed tactical and strategic sales.
• Is highly organized and has very effective time management skills.
• Is a demonstrated leader among employees.
• Has well developed I.T. skills and uses sales database tracking programs.
• Strong negotiating skills and capacity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong listening skills.
