Contribute to the profitability and growth of Sport UK, by planning, managing and implementing the marketing department's strategy to increase the company's UK market share in line with corporate goals.
Key Tasks:
1. Maximise promotional opportunities offered by sponsored athletes, teams and events.
2. Plan, manage and implement in store retail promotions in conjunction with the European Marketing Manager, UK Sales Manager and Race Promotions Coordinator.
3. Maintain an active relationship with UK media contacts and write articles as required to expand PR activities in these markets.
4. Plan and recommend UK advertising schedule and sell through activity so as to obtain the maximum effect within the budget.
5. Liaise with Sales and Product staff, to initiate promotional activities related to sell through and support those activities.
6. Prepare annual and monthly UK Marketing budgets by each activity within the budget allowed for the department, in consultation with European Marketing Manager
7. Develop and manage a grass roots promotional strategy for in store and event days.
8. Network with key sporting teams, clubs, associations and agents keeping a clear knowledge of all sports categories and opportunities.
9. Keep abreast of corporate promotional policies and initiatives through liaison with EMO marketing staff and MCJ promotions office.
10. Monitor and maintain athlete and team contracts and recommend future opportunities to the Head of Division.
11. Develop and implement all new UK POP.
12. Develop and manage the strategy of race promotions in line with corporate goals.
13. Project Manage London Marathon exhibition and other trade shows.
14. Ensure CI (Corporate Identity) is used correctly
15. In addition to these duties and responsibilities, the jobholder may be required to carry out other tasks assigned by his manager.
Who we're looking for
Essential
• Marketing degree (diploma or higher)
•Marketing experience in sports etail / trade marketing
• Computer Literacy (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
• Understanding of running - i.e. Event Management, Sponsorship, Promotions, Specialist press, Agents etc.
Useful
Keen and Active participant in ball / field based sports
Understanding of creative / print practices.
Sports Marketing degree / Diploma / Any sporting coaching qualifications.
