As the specialist crop protection business of the global Bayer group, the Cambridge based Bayer CropScience are seeking a finalist / recently qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA accountant to join the Planning, Controlling and Co-ordination Finance team. Reporting to the commercial management accountant, the role of Finance Analyst brings together the separate functions of the business for Actual / Budget in order to develop and improve the Forecast Reporting process. This role will provide vital analysis across each of the companies six operating units. This high profile business liaison role will suit an assertive accounting professional who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and a flair for communicating with non-finance individuals. This is a great opportunity for an accountant to develop their career in a buoyant industry sector. Some of your varied accountabilities will include:
- Consolidating the legal entity forecast, budget & monthly forecast estimates with supporting variance analysis and commentary
- Agreeing and setting the timetable to coordinate the collection of data for the annual budget and periodic forecasts
- Managing the compilation, analysis and publication of the monthly income statement for local management review
- Comparing & analysing key performance indicators
- Primary contact for issues in relation to Internal/External audit, Headcount reporting, VAT issues, Statutory Accounts and Business Returns for Bayer CropScience
Who we're looking for
- A newly qualified or recently qualified accountant or a Finalist with one of the recognised accounting bodies (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Good MS Excel skills to Intermediate level (Pivot Tables / vlookup)
- Strong analytical, motivational and interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work and contribute effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work to deadlines and perform efficiently and accurately under pressure
