My client, a leading global construction consultancy, are currently looking for a Category Manager to join their centralised procurement function in Bedfordshire reporting to Team Leader - Category Management. The main responsibilities are:
• Supplier management in pre-defined categories for the long-term benefits of the business.
• Maintaining market analysis to enable to optimum sourcing solutions to be obtained at any given time.
• Ensure the positioning of supply ensures high-quality service from all suppliers.
• Liaise across functions and sectors to enable procurement consolidation and cost-savings to be maximised for the business as a whole.
• Build high-quality relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that procurement efficiencies are maximised through acting as a central function across the European business.
Who we're looking for
You will be a strong general procurement and commercial professional from any industry background. You will have demonstrable experience in negotiating significant group deals, managing and developing suppliers and negotiating the most effective agreement to combine cost, quality and risk.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment which is constantly changing and ideally be prepared to travel.
