Reporting into the Finance Director and working closely with the Private Equity firm who have recently acquired McArdles, you will be responsible for the finance department of a growing and acquisitive, diverse civil engineering firm. You will design and build organisational structures and processes, provide accurate and timely management accounts, and help define the finance function going forward.
Key Responsibilities:
• Control of all accounting systems and processes including restructuring and change management where necessary to support the business as it grows.
• Working closely with the Finance Director to provide planning and analysis and set KPIs and targets.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and bank covenant compliance reporting information.
• Advise and support the Managing Director and investors with acquisition analysis, due diligence and modelling.
• Monitor cash collections, credit control and payment authorisation.
• Manage the finance department staff and take full responsibility for their development.
• Work with the Group's external advisors, including tax advisors and M&A advisors.
The role will allow the successful candidate to develop within the company and potentially across the wider portfolio of investments made by the private equity firm.
Who we're looking for
• A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
• You will have trained in an accounting firm and gained exposure to a wide variety of clients and projects or you may have trained, and worked, in an entrepreneurial SME environment.
• An accurate and detail focussed individual, you will be someone who drives for results and is comfortable with a fast paced and evolving environment.
• You will be ambitious to progress in line with the Group or the private equity firm's opportunities.
