Uxbridge
Permanent ⁄ £38000 - £40000
Updated September 24, 2008
The Product Manager's core accountability is to develop and launch (refresh) new (existing) products, in order to satisfy customer needs and drive revenue growth.
Our clients vision is to be the first choice brand for vehicle rental and its mission is to be the most customer-focused, cost-efficient operator in every market it serves.
The Strategic Plan has set them ambitious targets:
1. An Agenda for Growth (to double absolute revenue by 2013 - i.e. grow 2x fast as we are now)
2. Set New Standards for customer experience that consistently exceed expectations
A major re-organisation is underway to deliver this:
• Centres of Expertise (CoEs) provide the expertise and consistency, by focusing on value-added activities
• The CoEs provide services (with SLAs in place), to internal customers
• Customers could include other CoEs outside Marketing (e.g. Sales, Strategic Planning etc.) and also those within Marketing (includes Marketing in country)
• Product Management & Development is a key Marketing CoE (as are (Brand [including communications], Programmes Management [e.g. #1 Club]), On Line etc.)
• The services of each Marketing CoE are carried out according to a defined "Value Chain" , in order to deliver the right overall experience for the customer
• The work of the CoEs is governed by the Commercial Council for HEL
The Product Management & Development CoE has top-line accountability for the product portfolio - aligned with each segment & each of the 9 HEL countries. It develops value propositions to support, win & retain business and thus provides an integrated approach to cross-sell and up-sell, in order to increase overall revenue.
A product here can be part of the core offering i.e. a Tariff + Service offering or a product extension. Some are delivered in partnership with an external provider (e.g. Chauffeur Drive). This CoE is the primary source of briefing Marketing activity - e.g. to Brand, On Line etc; and is the main Marketing interface with Sales. There is a lot of opportunity to do more (i.e. more products in a more integrated way); to improve (i.e. make the offer more compelling); and to standardise Tariff & Service offerings - e.g. by bundling/mixing for specific segments or sales channels or by making them work cross-border.
