Reporting directly into the HR Director this is a newly created position where you will:
• Develop, implement and monitor the equality and diversity agenda throughout the organisation
• Oversee a data collection exercise to ensure data held is up to date, and to analyse and monitor data collected in line with legislation
• Develop a robust Equality & Diversity policy for the organisation which covers all legal requirements
• Communicate the policy and arrange training across the organisation to ensure it is ingrained into the culture of the organisation
•Develop and maintain external relationships with the Equality & Human Rights Commission and the Scottish Government's Equalities Unit
Who we're looking for
• Ability to influence, persuade and motivate staff effectively over a number of locations
• Established practitioner with proven experience of development, implementation and monitoring of equality & diversity policies and practices in similar public sector organisations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, planning and presentation skills
• The ability to coach peers and other colleagues
• Project Management and numeracy skills
