Taking full responsibility for the Operation of our clients integrated Transport solutions business across South East England through effective management of Resources, Staff, Budget and P&L.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record and in depth knowledge of managing an integrated Transport unit, preferably in a public sector or local authority environment.
In particular,successful track record in developing a back to back service that encompasses route planning, procurement of supply chain, fleet supply, maintenance of logistics for social services, non-emergency patient transport and special educational needs home to school transport.
Responsibilities -
• Deliver the agreed P&L budget and forecasts, increasing annual turnover and maximising operating efficiency in terms of process, people and systems
• Ensure workshop compliance with relevant operational legislation and company quality procedures
• To build a significant business by providing an integrated transportation solutions operation through targeted marketing and identifying and implementing growth opportunities
• Work as a key contributor or lead as required in respect to bidding and securing additional contracts within London and the South East
• Fully support Logistics, Sales and Transportation teams
• Continually develop improved efficiencies through a thorough analysis of the business and implementation of appropriate change programmes.
• Ensure all safety and security procedures are adhered to with out compromise
Who we're looking for
To be considered for this role, you need the following -
• Successful track record in leading and negotiating contracts with external service providers
•Knowledge of Contract mobilisation within the public sector environment
• Previous budget, P&L responsibility for at least £20m
• Good knowledge of the local authority / public sector transportation market
• Strong people management skills
• Successful Track record of sales and marketing or client management
• Strategic approach with a can do attitude to implement change and improvements
• Entrepreneurial approach with the vision to see and secure opportunities
