This is a unique and exciting role to lead a sizable communications team for one of the leading charities in the south. Reporting into the Director of External Affairs you will be responsible for the organisation's mission and strategic objectives through the development of PR and Communications activity.
You will raise the profile of the organisation on a regional, national and international basis through strategic direction and implementation of internal and external communications plans.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
• A proven track record in managing public and media relations at a senior level
• Experience in managing multimillion pound budgets
• Success in managing and developing a team
• An all round understanding of all marketing and communications channels
About our client
Guide Dogs have been providing blind and partially-sighted people with the freedom and independence that a guide dog gives for 75 years.They are a world leader in breeding and training guide dogs and employ around 900 professional staff in the UK. Guide Dogs are a leading voice for the mobility and access rights for all blind and partially sighted people in the UK. The charity is supported by about 10,000 volunteers, including puppy walkers, brood-stock holders, dog boarders and thousands of local fundraisers.They also fund major research projects looking into the prevention of eye disease, and work to raise awareness of the importance of eye care.
