Working in the Public Policy and Campaigns department to formulate effective campaigns to improve access and mobility for blind and partially sighted people.
To work in partnership with other like minded organisations in the visual impairment sector, where doing so advances the life chances of blind and partially sighted people.
To involve our clients in formulation and implementation of campaigns and communication strategies.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a candidate who is able to demonstrate the following:
• Previous exposure to a campaigns role in a public sector or charity environment
•A powerful communicator with a resilient personality
• Have established government contacts on a local and national level
About our client
Guide Dogs has been providing blind and partially-sighted people with the freedom and independence that a guide dog gives for 75 years. They are a world leader in breeding and training guide dogs and employ around 900 professional staff in the UK. Guide Dogs is a leading voice for the mobility and access rights for all blind and partially sighted people in the UK. The charity is supported by about 10,000 volunteers, including puppy walkers, brood-stock holders, dog boarders and thousands of local fundraisers.They also fund major research projects looking into the prevention of eye disease, and work to raise awareness of the importance of eye care.
