Finance Director

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director with a proven track-record of delivering commercial financial leadership within the Construction industry or closely related.
You will act as business partner to the Managing Director and form part of a small, close-knit senior executive team which is focussed on pursuing a clear strategic growth plan.
In particular you will:
•Take overall control of the financial strategy,control of the finance operations and financial management of the operating companies;
• Enhance current management reporting on current and projected contracts and the analysis thereof;
• Introduce more rigorous and sophisticated levels of risk management as the business manages more complex works;
• Provide critical financial and commercial support on major contract bids;
• Play a key role in managing relationships with external advisers;
• Ensure that the Group's strategic planning activities are co-coordinated, communicated and implemented consistently;
• Lead and manage a small, robust finance function;

Who we're looking for
We are seeking a qualified (CCAB or equivalent) finance professional with a proven track-record of having held a senior executive position within a Construction (or similar contracting-type) business.
In particular you should be able to provide clear evidence of:
• Having worked as part of a small senior management team in helping to shape and drive a business towards it's strategic objectives;
• Being a strong team-player with a strong sense of integrity, client service and commitment to excellence;
• A down-to-earth and open personality that will be both respected and trusted by staff and peers alike;
• Taking a very hands-on and pro-active approach to the role of Finance Director - appreciating that there is only a small team and being comfortable in getting the job done;
• A broad commercial finance experience with particular reference to commercial contracts;
• Applying a strong cash management approach in business;
•A broad understanding of the commercial/financial implications of compliance to the various regulatory issues prevalent within the Construction industry;
•Interested in, and capable of, leading and developing others within the finance function;

What's on offer
Base salary £75-90,000 plus executive benefits and discretionary bonus award.
