An exciting opportunity to be Assistant Director - Mining Specialist for a Management Consulting firm based in London. Our client is one of the foremost providers of advisory services to the energy, utilities and mining industry. They work on very high profile projects covering strategic issues surrounding valuations, restructuring, strategyand M&A deals.

As an Assistant Director - Mining Specialist you will be responsible for identifying and developing newbusiness in the mining and metals sector. This will include the preparation of pitches and proposals and attendance at presentations. Project roles might include:
• financial modelling
• benchmarking analysis
• economic analysis
• market assessment
• business planning
• financial analysis
• valuations
• transactions

Your work will primarily be located in the UK and Continental Europe with average project length being around 3 months. Although the exact balance will vary, your work will be split fairly equally between deals related, strategic advisory and valuation related work.

Who we're looking for
Successful candidates will be degree educated with specialist industry knowledge of the mining or metals sector from one of the following:
• resources analysis at at investment bank (or equivalent)
• business development role in a corporate setting
• valuations and transaction experience at a consultancy
In addition, applicants must:

• be an excellent team player and leader
• be highly analytical and numerate
• have excellent communication skills at all levels within a business
• be willing to travel
