Expatriate Tax Assistant Manager

• Assisting in the day-to-day running of your client portfolio and managing your own workload to ensure all work is completed to timescale and within budget
• Taking responsibility for your own financial performance
• Working effectively with the team across all levels of seniority, allocating appropriate work to the assistants and client administrators
• Direct contact with clients and HM Revenue and Customs, (therefore the ability to communicate effectively and a commitment to team work is essential)
• Identification of client issues/concerns and conveying these to the appropriate senior members of staff
• Reviewing modified payrolls
• Arrival and departure briefings with assignees
• Review UK income tax returns and prepare more complex tax returns for more senior review
• Ensuring the provision of necessary information from clients to prepare personal income tax returns (i.e. issue tax organisers, obtain employment income details, arrange tax payments, etc) is managed
• Dealing with correspondence from HM Revenue & Customs (statements of account, submission of standard forms, etc)
• Preparation/review of fees
• Liaison with other offices and departments globally
• Develop strong relationships with client HR contacts and expatriates in order to become a reliable major point of contact

Who we're looking for
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft office and a willingness to use tax return preparation software
• CTA/ACA qualified preferred though not essential
• Experience of working on high profile global accounts would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Flexible, positive outlook with a commitment to team working
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under own initiative
• Capable of working to deadlines, showing resilience under pressure
• An ability to apply knowledge to non routine situations
• You should be able to demonstrate sound professional judgement including the ability to identify issues/concerns and consult where appropriate with more senior staff
