Locum Marine Fuels and Air Lawyer

• Negotiating, drafting, revising, analysing and interpreting various forms of commercial contracts such as supply, distribution and sales agreements, joint venture arrangements, business sale and purchase agreements;
• Furnishing advice and opinions on legal issues that arise in the course of business such as marine fuels quality/quantity disputes, EU and UK competition law, general employment issues;
• Drafting and advising on intra-group agreements and structures to support the business' international trading arrangements;
• Identifying, interpreting and assessing the impact of laws and regulations relating to the UK and other jurisdictions;
• Working closely with the company's international tax team;
• Working closely with the other lawyers supporting international businesses and liaising with internal legal advisers and external legal advisers across the world;
• Product acquisition, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and sales;
• Air BP's international trading arrangements;
• Construction, ownership and operation of pipelines, fuel farms, hydrant and other distribution facilities;
• Concession, financing and technology agreements;
• Acquisitions and divestments;
• Competition and employment issues;
• General commercial work.
Who we're looking for
• Solicitor or barrister
• Previous joint venture and project experience;
• Strong legal skills including a solid understanding of competition law issues;
• Commercial awareness and ability to apply sound commercial judgement;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Experienced at managing external legal resources.
• Previous international experience
• Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and manage the delivery of legal services across a broad business.
• A desire to achieve continuous improvement;
• Ability to work effectively internationally, and with different cultures
