Global Sourcing Manager

The role is as Global SourcingManager, based in Southern UKmanaging 4 key Global categories of spend, nominally in the Pharma area of the GSK business, covering 40+ manufacturing sites for solid dose products.

 Spend is only £5m pa but supports around £12bn of top line.
 Length of contract - to end May 2009.


Key Tasks include:
 Gaining Global approval and sign off for 2 current Global Strategic Source Plans and proceeding to implementation
o Includes Low Cost Sourcing identification and progression
o Identification of challengers and security of supply sources and their development
 The completion and approval of 3 Global Contracts by year end
 Ongoing price negotiation in situations of little leverage and significant commodity price increases
 Incumbent supplier development including OE, Business Review meeting, Performance measurement and Quality Improvement
 Risk management
 Capacity management and New Product Introduction delivery
 Pricing and spend forecasting
 Ad Hoc issue and supply management as requested by customer group.

Who we're looking for
Demonstrated experience of procurement practices (Global Sourcing Manager)includingstrategic sourcingprocess, strong commercial awareness through experience in other disciplines, membership of recognised professional procurement organisations.

Ideally exposure to:
• Global Commodity Management (Automotive, FMCG, Chem / Pharma)
• Strategic Sourcing process design and delivery.

• Operational Excellence practical experience and qualification required; knowledge of Supply Network and ways of working essential; TWC tool usage including ePass; Strategy creation experience and knowledge of SGM process. Good interpersonal and influencing skills important as is the ability to work within a team environment.
