Based in Woking you will be responsible for the following:
• Assisting the business units to maximize revenue arising on commercial deals by minimizing the groups tax liabilities and associated tax risk.
• Developing and maintaining processes to enable the tax department to replicate its approach to deal advice and therefore drive efficiencies.
• Liaise with local advisors to ensure that all tax issues are considered and to establish the compliance requirements arising from Sabre's operations in a particular country.
• Dealing with cross border tax issues such as permanent establishment; transfer pricing, treaty clearances, withholding taxes and dividend planning;
• Involvement in adhoc tax projects (e.g. local country reorganisations or corporate simplification);
• Development of close relationships with company personnel & the external advisors.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate is likely to be:
• An ACA or ACCA qualified with first time passes, with PQE in Corporate Tax.
• Tax experience in a top 20 accountancy firm;
• A good understanding and practical experience of the UK tax system and some knowledge and experience of dealing with international and cross-border issues;
• Able to multi task and prioritise effectively;
• Able to build relationships and trust internally within the company with colleagues in various depths. including US tax, accounting, legal and business;
• Able to set clear objectives, manage own work load independently and to work effectively in order to deliver within deadlines;
• Able to understand and interpret complex tax issues and legislation with the ability to analyse data and model financial outcomes;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate tax issues to non tax people;
