Head of Financial Accounting

Due to its continued success this global property consulting business requires a Head of Financial Accounting to further the provision of financial support and guidance to its head office in Birmingham. This is a key role reporting to the Financial Controller.

The role will support the ongoing development and execution of a world class financial accounting and reporting capability for Davis Langdon. You will oversee statutory accounting and reporting ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, and will manage the year end process, liaising with external auditors to ensure that the audit is completed efficiently.

Managing a head office accounting team, you will be responsible for providing training, support and development. This will cover sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control. You will need to ensure financial controls are in place and adhered to at all times and proactively develop financial systems and reports to deliver better quality management information.

Who we're looking for
For this Head of Financial Accounting role in Birmingham
• Ideally you will be ACA qualified from a Big 4 or top accountancy firm
• Previous experience of managing a team will be essential
• An understanding of the construction industry and/or experience of working within a partnership will be considered an advantage. Also, experience of SAP
• Must also have high numeric and analytical skills, financial accounting experience and confidence to present to Senior Partners.
• Strong influencing skills and professional credibility will be essential
• You will have an analytical and logical approach with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Ability to demonstrate effective planning and organising in all areas of the job ensuring all time deadlines are met.
• Demonstrate an ability to prioritise workload, and a desire to add value to the organisation
