• Providing legal expertise and leading a culturally diverse team in achieving strategic and tactical initiatives to support a broad variety of legal functions for the EMEA sales geography.
• In addition to being a leading fiduciary for the company in Europe and being a first class lawyer, this person will have the capacity to business partner with the senior management team and act as a change agent within the department.
• To take ownership for management of the counsel (both internal and external), working to motivate and develop the legal employee capability within the Region and the Legal Department as a whole.
• Providing legal counsel and drafting and negotiation of IT-related customer contracts (such as sale/purchase and support agreements, equipment leases, software licenses, professional services agreements, loan agreements) and strategic alliance agreements. Advising on intellectual property protection, revenue recognition issues and outsourcing arrangements.
• Developing and delivering requisite training to the sales organisation and/or his or her functional colleagues.

Who we're looking for
Experience required:
• Educated to Degree level
• A depth of relevant transactional experience (major law firm or in-house), ideally in Information Technology (hardware, software, services including Professional Services).
• Demonstrated knowledge of Intellectual Property laws and issues.
• Proven management/leadership track record.
• A deep and specialised expertise in core legal function, vertical knowledge and experience.
• Basic knowledge of and experience in the anti trust laws.
• Experience working with a global company or with global projects.
