As fund accountant, you will be expected to work within a team to ensure accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory financial statements. In addition you will liaise with external auditors and investment advisors, assist with management reporting and carry out various ad hoc projects.
More specifically you will take responsibility for:
- production of monthly management accounts in accordance with pre-agreed deadlines
- production and review of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with statutory and/or client deadlines
- co-ordination and management of year-end audit process
- ensuring that internal and regulatory deadlines for the production of monthly, interim and statutory financial reporting are met
Who we're looking for
Candidates will be:
- educated to a good A-level standard
- degree level preferred but not essential
- recent 'ACA', 'ACCA' or equivalent qualification obtained or studying towards qualification
- recent audit background, specializing in financial services, preferred but not required
- experience in the investment funds industry preferred but not essential
- excellent communication skills essential, both internally and with external contacts
- ability to manage workload and prioritize as necessary
- self-motivation in order to meet deadlines
- teamwork and team ethic essential
- recent knowledge of US GAAP and its application preferred but not essential
- strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- ability to apply technical knowledge as required
- full understanding of Guernsey and offshore investment vehicles, and their regulation, would be an advantage
- full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
